Basics of Concrete Pavement

Join us for this Lunch & Learn session with special guest speakers from the Michigan Concrete Association. This session will cover the basics of concrete pavement including materials, reinforcement, common uses, and factors that affect the performance and durability of concrete. You'll learn how concrete is made, how it is placed, as well as how you can get the most out of it for your pavement projects.

Concrete Pavement: Field and Lab Testing Explained

The Michigan Concrete Association will discuss the field and lab testing methods used during concrete pavement projects. You will learn about different test methods, what kinds of information each test provides and what that information can tell you about your concrete. You'll learn the purpose of different tests as well as some of the challenges that an inspector may face when field testing concrete. The difference between field and laboratory testing will be explained as well as the importance of both kinds of testing.

Construction Inspection for Concrete Pavements

The Michigan Concrete Association will discuss the importance of concrete pavement inspection as well as the key things to be on the lookout for including site conditions, subgrade and subbase preparations, understanding the mix design, and critical factors to observe during concrete placement. You'll learn what to look for during pavement finishing as well as how to identify common defects.

There is a single registration for the entire series, but you will receive separate login instructions for each part.

The registration deadline for this online event is April 9, 2025.
